1. How long has this school been in operation?
Since 2004 and in that time we have graduated many students!
2. Under what authority can you issue diplomas?
North Star Christian High School is registered as a nonprofit Texas corporation. All of our educational and testing material come from the nationally recognized curriculum A BEKA. The curriculums includes the basic requirements for high school graduation testing as prescribed by the state of Texas for all home schooled/private school educated students.
3. Where are you located?
Our main office is located in Houston, Texas. In 2012 we will begin opening the first of our LICENCED SITES with the first location to be in Dallas, Texas with pending locations opening in the following areas: Shreveport, LA., Little Rock AR. and San Antonio, TX.

Wehave the ability to test th student in any subject/s required to complete the transcripts and graduate the student requirement. The subject areas you will have to test on are dependent on your high school transcripts you provide to us.
7. Will the college I plan to attend accept this diploma?
Each institution has its own requirements regarding acceptance, that being said many of our students have gone on to college, trade school, and technical school. In an effort to remain transparent we ALWAYS reccommend you research thoroughly prior to enrolling. You should ask questions not just the perspective high school but any college university you plan on attending to ensure acceptance.
In our experience we have found the following to be true:
4 year colleges/universities have many factors that they take into consideration prior to accepting a student. Acceptable transcripts outlining required coursework, acceptable ACT/SAT test scores and ability to pay for your education through your own personal means, grants, loans or scholorships. Community colleges do not require ACT/SAT testing but may require "placement test" for admissions and Ability To Benefit (ATB) to qualify for financial aid. But we always recommend that you call the admissions office of the school you plan to attend or the HR department of the employer you plan to apply with and ask them if they accept diplomas from home school programs.
Military enlistment. As a Tier II program the military will require that you achieve certain scores on the ASVAB military exam and complete at least 15 college credit hours.
is a fully accredited program and your diploma and transcripts should be accepted by any college, trade school, technical school, employer, or branch of military.
4. How long are my transcripts kept on file?
Your transcripts are kept on file for 10 years. After 10 years , NSCHS makes no guarantee of reproduction after this time. The cost for each transcript is $4.00, which includes postage/mailing. Transcripts may be mailed directly to the students or to the school or university of his/her choice. To order your transcript please contact our student records department.
5. How long is the exam?
North Star Home School Program: This program covers the 5 primary areas as required by the state of Texas. These 5 areas break down into 22 different subjects.
Comprehensive Proctored Program:
An evaluation of your transcripts* will be required to advise how many of the exams you will have to take. In a best case scenario where you completed all your twelfth grade courses and received passing grades but did not graduate you may be required to take 1 math exam and complete an essay. In a worse case scenario where you have only completed the minimum 15 required credits from an acceptable transferring program you would have to make up 9 credits ad thus take 9 exams to do so. Students not possessing the minimum number of credits (15) may not enroll into this program. More details will be provided once your transcripts have been provided for evaluation.
